Update from Kim and Sherri in Turkey

Turkey's history from the Byzantine to Ottoman empires until today, is both fascinating and heart-breaking. Istanbul boasts a population of 17 million, yet only 35 churches. The entire nation has only 110 known churches including small house groups. Yet those who follow Christ as Savior are courageously proclaiming the Gospel in spite of the past and current situation.

The role of women in the church is active and growing. According to one church leader, there is an awakening among women which he hopes will impact homes and communities. Typically, women are idle and haven't found many ways to contribute due to the social norms of both the culture and family. But this very weekend, the first women's conference will take place in Istanbul. Each woman has been encouraged to come and bring a friend who doesn't yet know or follow Christ. They will experience drama, worship, and other areas of interest to the women.

Will you please pray for this women's conference on Saturday, October 10th? And pray for the emerging women's ministry which is a sign of great hope for the church here in Turkey.

Finally, please pray for Sherri and Kim as they travel to Greece for the final leg of their trip. Here, they plan to visit biblical sites for further research on the Women in the Window Bible study and enjoy time with Kim's many family members living in Athens.

With Much Love and Appreciation,

Kim & Sherri
